James Loughrie

Mr. James

Bio Picture

Mr. James has been teaching since 2006 and begins his third year at the Anacapa Adult Transition Program. In the 16+ years he’s been teaching, Mr. James has worked with students from the ages of 5 to 22. He can be seen around the Anacapa campus with a microphone in hand putting on a show and loves to see students come out of their shell and overcome the obstacles in front of them.

This year, he’s taking students from his class and the campus to integrate onto the Oxnard and Ventura College campuses. Mr. James grew up in Palmdale and has lived in southern and central California, Arizona, South Korea and Turkey before calling the Tura home. He is a die-hard Trojan and USC alumnus from the class of 2002. He has a master’s degree in special education from Arizona State University.

When he’s not at Anacapa, Mr. James may just be out in the community with his lovely wife Tory or their dog Winston. He can be found hosting trivia in his spare time, watching the Trojans on Saturdays, playing golf, and working towards his life goal to visit every Costco in the world.
